CEO, Research and Impact Consultant

Jenay R. Sermon, Ph.D. is a seasoned impact research and evaluation strategist, program implementation leader, and instructional strategist with over 15 years of experience leading human-centered, equity-driven work across education, workforce development, nonprofit, and innovation ecosystems.


She began her career in self-contained K–12 classrooms, where she was trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Organizational Behavior Management (OBM)—applying behavioral psychology principles not only to support neurodivergent learners, but also to improve operations in blood banks, health centers, and school-based programs.


With formal training in program evaluation and a strong commitment to community-based research, Dr. Sermon has led evaluation projects for educational institutions, nonprofits, and municipal initiatives, helping teams align data with real-world outcomes. Her consulting portfolio spans diverse sectors—including mental health, VR/AR learning solutions, financial literacy, energy, leadership development, and entrepreneurial education—where she designs learning systems and research strategies that are both context-responsive and impact-driven.


Her research practice is grounded in culturally responsive and participatory approaches, supported by specialized training and fellowships in Design Thinking, UX Research, STEM qualitative methods, and Learning Analytics. Dr. Sermon has taught across undergraduate and graduate education programs and currently serves on faculty at Northeastern University’s Graduate School of Education, where she advises EdD students in qualitative action research and teaches advanced coursework in learning design and curriculum development.


She continues to support faculty across HBCU institutions, offering just-in-time development on designing measurable learning objectives, fostering active learning environments, and implementing metacognitive instruction, flipped learning, and tech-enhanced pedagogy. Dr. Sermon also trains practitioners and researchers in community-based and organizational action research, centering integrity, equity, and contextual relevance.


As Principal and Operations Lead of Learn Ubique LLC, she brings together research expertise, facilitation skill, and systems thinking to guide every engagement. Her leadership is anchored in the belief that learning should be transformative and restorative, and that strategy, evidence, and equity must work in concert to create sustainable, human-centered change.
